Nagpur: Member of Parliament from Ramtek Krupal Tumane has said that he is making all out efforts to get Central Railway Headquarters shifted to Nagpur from Mumbai.
Addressing a press conference in the city on Friday, Tumane said Nagpur Division is biggest in Central Railway. Mumbai is part of Western Railway. Therefore, our demand is that Central Railway’s Headquarters should be based in Nagpur and not in Mumbai which is Headquarters of Western Railway as well. “I will soon meet Railway Minister and hold discussion on the issue.
The demand will also be raised in Parliament if need arose. Another valid reason for demanding Central Railway Headquarters in Nagpur is that the Divisional Office of South East Central Railway is also based in the city. Now, efforts are being made to bring headquarters of one of these railways.
