Nagpur: The State Government has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court of India, challenging the ruling of Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court in the case related to former Zilla Parishad President Rashmi Barve.
It may be mentioned that the High Court had quashed the decision of the District Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee (CSC), which had cancelled the caste validity certificate of Rashmi Barve, on September 24. The Court had stated in the order that the CSC had no jurisdiction to reopen Rashmi Barve’s case without substantial evidence and directed the Caste Scrutiny Committee to issue the petitioner’s validity certificate within a week and pay the imposed cost.
Rashmi Barve has already filed a caveat in the Supreme Court through her lawyer Adv Sameer Sonwane.
