Could this development be pointing to Vidarbha state?
Nagpur: PWD, has put a proposal to demolish the over 40 years old buildings of Ravi Bhawan and Nag Bhawan where compact 3000 sq feet apartment complex will come up for MLAs.
Guardian Minister Bawankule disclosed this at a press conference he held this evening in Hyderabad House.
Incidentally, this property will also be demolished to build apartments to house Senior Bureaucrats like Divisional Commissioner, Collector etc. under another tower. Right now the entire Civil lines area is dotted with British era bungalows surrounded by large compounds where these officers reside. A lot of space is taken up by a few houses.
The two towers will be constructed on a BOT system.
Also, a commercial complex that was being built by Nagpur Builder N Kumar but is languishing half complete right across the Vidhan Bhawan will be taken over. This will be acquired to build a Administrative complex for the government. It will be connected to the Vidhan Bhawan through an underground tunnel.
Portents for Vidarbha State?
Planning of flats for MLAs and new Administrative offices etc. could be pointing to the state of Vidarbha becoming a reality sooner than anticipated.
This is the kind of infrastructure a new state will require – otherwise there is already a large complex housing the MLA Guest house and there are flats for MLAs only in Mumbai.
Winds flowing favorably at last for Vidarbha?
