A youth was knocked dead by a recklessly driven unidentified vehicle on Monday afternoon under Jaripatka police station.
The deceased has been identified as Bhupendra Singh Vishwapal Singh Rajput (25), a native of Chhatisghargh and a resident of Borgaon. Police source said Bhupendra was on his motorcycle (CG 07 LU 5813) when he collided with an unidentified truck which was at a neck-breaking speed in front of Vaibhav Apartment, Jaripatka Ring Road on Monday morning at around 6 am. Passersby rushed him to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital but he was declared dead later. Meanwhile, the ‘killer’ driver fled away from the scene.

Jaripatka police have registered an offence under Sections 279, 338, 304 (a) of the IPC read with sub sections 134 and 177 of Motor Vehicle Act.
