Reddy, Project Director, DRDA interact with VIA members,guide them on to convert unskilled unemployed youth into productive workforce

Nagpur News: P. Venkateshwar Reddy, Project Director, DRDA, Adilabad and his team visited Nagpur and met Government Officials and VIA Members to convert non-literate, school drop–out, unskilled unemployed youth into productive workforce by building their skills; thereby promoting inclusive growth in Vidarbha Region specially focusing on Nagpur region.

Reddy giving his presentation said the strategy is to overcome Short term skilled labour in industry and to enhance employability. For this they have started three models, like Placement linked training programmes, direct placement and Skilling to promote self employment. The goal is to provide 15 lakh jobs to unemployed youth by 2014-15 and the target for 2013 – 14 is 350000 placements. Further, the youth from Adilabad is more keen and prefer to work in Nagpur region then Hyderabad.

Reddy said there are various courses under Rajeev Yuva Kiranalu- Adilabad (Ap) and also there is a Registration portal for Unemployed Youth namely Rajiv Yuva kiranalu Portal where youth from local region of Adilabad can register themselves and gain employment through us.

Reddy said as a government entity they provide, unemployed youth for placement in the category of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled. They also provide facilities for conducting interviews, written test for selection, free boarding and lodging for HR staff coming for recruitment and any other kind of assistance requested by the firms.

In this interaction meeting Akash Agrawal, Hon. Secretary- VIA and Gaurav Sarda, Joint Secretary-VIA focused on the requirement and problems being faced by the Industrialist in running their Units especially the problem of retaining employees. Further, they also suggested that in MIHAN there should be a residential blocks available for the youth coming to work in different Industries which will help in solving problem of retention of employees form neighboring states.

At the outset, floral welcome of Shri P. Venkateshwar Reddy, Project Director, DRDA, Adilabad was done by O. S. Bagadia, Member- VIA. Welcome remarks and introduction of the delegates was done by Girish Deodhar, Chairman, VIA HRD Forum. Floral welcome of Vikas Jain, Joint Director of Industries, Nagpur was done by Gaurav Sarda, Joint Secretary-VIA. He also proposed vote of thanks to all members, delegates and team, government officials present at the meeting and all participants present at the meeting. Other Dignitaries who were present in this interaction meeting were Akash Agrawal, Hon. Secretary, VIA, Chandrashekhar Padgilwar, Member-VIA, Vikas Jain, JDI, Shrikant Kulkarni and other officials of MCED, Officials of DRDA, Nagpur.
