Nagpur: The Regional Office of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has started functioning in Nagpur. This Regional Office will oversee the work of Ministry in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh as well. Earlier, the office was based in Bhopal and the files were used to be sent there. Now, with Regional Office in Nagpur, not only time will be saved but the decisions could be taken speedily.
The Regional Office opened in Sadar area will have three regular employees to manage the affairs of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. In all, 33 employees have been appointed and the rest of the staff will start working soon. This Regional Office will coordinate and implement decisions of the Ministry and the Government and play the role of Nodal Agency as well. Once the office starts functioning on full scale, it will facilitate speedy completion of infrastructure projects stalled by the complicated rules and regulations of environment and other departments.
