Nagpur: For India to become self-reliant and the world’s third-largest economy, economic transformation is crucial. Every sector, including industry, agriculture, and services, must progress with an economic vision. Chartered Accountants (CAs) play a vital role in providing this vision and instilling financial discipline in society, stated Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, on Saturday.
Speaking at the ‘National Conference of CA Students’ held at the Suresh Bhat Auditorium in Reshimbagh, Gadkari emphasized the importance of CAs beyond just GST and income tax. He highlighted their role in economic planning and societal financial management. The event was attended by senior educationist Dr. Vedprakash Mishra, former CA Association president Jaideep Shah, CA Akshay Gulhane, Trupti Bhattad, Abhijit Kelkar, Dinesh Rathi, among others.
Gadkari remarked that CAs, through their expertise in study, hard work, knowledge, and quality, contribute significantly to the country’s economic development. He stressed that the progress of industry, agriculture, and services directly relates to the nation’s economic growth, placing a substantial responsibility on CAs to drive this advancement. He also mentioned the importance of the Happy Human Index for the overall well-being and prosperity of the country.
