New Delhi/ Nagpur: Welcoming the views of  senior BJP leaders Lal Krishna Adwani and Murli Manohar Joshi on the issue of accepting the responsibility of Bihar debacle, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha said on Thursday, “We should not escape our responsibility, and it should be fixed on those responsible”, informed sources.

He further said, according to sources, all BJP members are ashamed of the Bihar poll results, and as is the people’s mandate, we must accept it as our defeat and should not shirk responsibility. This is the right time, and also the need of hour that we should follow the guidance of friend, philosopher, Guru and guide, he added.

According to him, the relay race has in fact just started, and the ‘gang of four’ has made a big blast. Sinha’s tirade has come at such an hour when BJP leaders–Lal Krishna Adwani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar and Yashwant Sinha have raised their rebel voice against leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the party has been made ‘inert’ during past one year and it is compelled to function under a handful of party-workers. These leaders, in a written letter, have demanded comprehensive analysis of the reasons for party’s debacle.

Sinha denied the allegation that the Bihar poll-results could have been different if he was declared as an official candidate for the post of Bihar Chief Minister. However, he added that if he had been assigned the task of campaigning in Bihar, the situation would have been better for the party. He lamented that he was misquoted by the media as ‘the Bihar results would have been different if he had been made the Chief Ministerial candidate.’

According to Sinha, due to landsliding defeat of the party in Bihar elections, the dissidence in terms of the manner and quality of electioneering is surfacing. He was not included in the campaigning for party. He made it clear that he never aspired for the post of Bihar CM, and even had no ambition. He said, he had only said that if he was called for campaigning, things would have been improved.

In another post, he said, as he has a lot of  friends, admirers and supporters the picture in certain seats could have been certainly better. He claimed, “I am not a Rajya Sabha member, who seeks back-door entry. I have come elected with the support of the people, twice elected with record differences. I have base of supporters.”

He lamented that he, who has vital role in politics in addition to his role in Bollywood where he is loved as ‘Bihari Babu’ by people, was cast aside from electioneering, making his friends, voters and supporters look down.
