Nagpur: A 40-foot wide and 10-foot high retaining wall along the Nag River, behind LAD College, has collapsed, raising concerns about potential flooding and damage to the college. The collapse, which occurred on Wednesday morning, has exposed the college’s basketball ground and obstructed the river’s flow due to debris.

College authorities fear that in the event of flooding, water could rush into the college, causing severe damage. This is not the first time the college has faced flood-related issues, as it suffered extensive damage during the September 23 flash flood.

Faculty members suspect that the unscientific removal of sludge from the riverbed may have caused the collapse. Similar incidents have occurred recently, highlighting the need for urgent attention to prevent future flooding and damage.

The wall collapse has intensified concerns about the college’s vulnerability to flooding, and authorities are urged to take immediate action to address the issue and prevent potential disasters.
