Nagpur: In a love triangle case, a woman’s lover murdered another lover in Butibori Police Station area near Nagpur on Sunday. The deceased was an e-rickshaw driver.
The crime took place on Sunday morning in the open space of the Selila Layout in Mohgaon village. The police have arrested two accused in this connection.
According to police, a similar love triangle related murder reported in the city a few days prior. On Sunday, the latest incident involved Santosh Manohar Chunne (47), an e-rickshaw driver from Takia, Dhantoli. Santosh was in a relationship with a woman who also had another lover. On Sunday, Santosh was travelling to Butibori with his e-rickshaw when the accused, who were on a two-wheeler, followed him. They forced Santosh into the open space of the Selila Layout and attacked him with a sword-like weapon and slashed his throat. The assailants then fled the scene.
In the afternoon, a shepherd discovered Santosh lying in a pool of blood and immediately alerted police patil Sudhakar Wankhede, who then alerted the Butibori police. The police arrived and performed Panchanama. They later identified Santosh and launched a manhunt for the accused. The police arrested two accused connected to the crime and are currently interrogating them. It is reported that one of the arrested accused is the woman’s other lover. The investigation is ongoing.
