Nagpur: Kalamna area of Nagpur was rocked by violence late Monday night following the brutal murder of 22-year-old Nagesh Ganesh Sahu. A 16-year-old boy allegedly stabbed three youngsters at Dipti Signal area over a road rage leading to death of one of the youngsters.
The deceased was identified as Nagesh Sahu, while his two friends, Shiva Selokar (23) and Govind Sahu (22), were injured in the incident. The police are ascertaining whether the minors and youngsters involved in the incident had any criminal records.
Police said Nagesh, Selokar and Sahu were riding triple-seat on a bike. The minor was on another bike with his accomplice, identified as Kiran Hira (19). Hira abruptly applied brake. Nagesh too applied brakes as his bike nearly collided with Hira’s vehicle. This led to a heated exchange, and soon a scuffle broke out.
As Nagesh, Selokar, and Sahu tried to pin down the 16-year-old, he brandished a knife and attacked them. Nagesh was fatally injured in the assault. Nagesh was killed, while Shiva and Govind were attacked, resulting in their serious injuries. Soon after receiving information about the incident, Senior PI Prashant Pande led a police team to the scene, where they apprehended the suspects and filed a murder case against them.
Man arrested for murdering youth in Pardi
Ina shocking incident, a 40-year-old man, Sanjay Dashrath Thakre, killed his 24-year-old friend Leeladhar Ravi Tandon by throwing him off the terrace of a house in Pardi. The murder, which took place late on Saturday night, was reportedly motivated by a prior dispute over alcohol between Leeladhar and Sanjay. Initially the accused tried to cover up the murder stating that it was an accident.
The deceased, Leeladhar was a resident of Plot No 65, Bhavani Nagar, Pardi. Accused Sanjay, too, was residing in the same locality. According to police, the altercation leading to this murder arose after Leeladhar had previously abused Sanjay during their argument after consuming liquor. The sequence of events unfolded when Sanjay invited Leeladhar for a ride on his two-wheeler before taking him to the terrace of a house belonging to Pooja Shende in Shiv Shambhu Nagar.
It was there that Sanjay launched the attack on Leeladhar with a sharp-edged weapon. Sanjay then threw Leeladhar from the terrace of the house injuring him seriously. Leeladhar was rushed to Mayo Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Sanjay then circulated the news in the locality as if Leeladhar died in an accident after falling from the terrace.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim’s father Ravi Mangal Tandon (54), police registered a case of homicide under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against Sanjay. Further investigations are underway.
