Nagpur: The first installation ceremony of Rotaract Club was conducted by the Rotary Club of Nagpur at Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi College of Engineering (PIGCE) here recently. President of Rotary Club Nagpur, Ajay Patil along with Secretary Seema Tiwari, Treasurer Nishant Birla, Director of New Generation Shiwangi Garg and Gauri Patil were prominently present on the occasion.

As a part of installation ceremony, new team of office bearers of Rotaract Club of PIGCE was formed. The newly elected college President of Rotaract Club Ankit Pawar briefed about the various activities that would be carried out by this club. Two to three “benchmark” activities per year such as career counseling to economically backward students, computer awareness programmes etc. were promised by him.

Chairperson of Rotaract Club Gauri Patil explained the difference between ‘Rotary and Rotaract”. She also briefed about the past and present scenario of Rotary Club.

Principal of PIGCE Dr R V Kshirsagar congratulated the newly elected office bearers of the college Rotaract Club and also promised that the college club will undertake various social awareness activities to support the club. Ajay Patil guided about the various activities to be undertaken such as career counseling, wild life protection, personal hygiene awareness camps in slum and village areas, computer literacy, organizing technical workshops etc. He also informed about the international level youth exchange programme.

Treasurer Rampoorwala conducted the proceedings while Secretary Aishwarya Khatri proposed a vote of thanks. The college staff Parag Puranik, Priti Manware, Purnashti Bhosale, Vivek Barwat, Amit Titirmare, Deepankar Thakuria, Laxman Bopche, Kaveri Shanti, Shwetal Raipure, Ashwini Walde, Bharti Singh and other student volunteers worked hard for the success of this installation ceremony.
