Rs 3.10 lakh cash stolen from banker’s house in Nagpur

Nagpur: Miscreants broke into a senior bank manager’s house at Juni Mangalwari in Lakadganj area of Nagpur and decamped with more than Rs 3.10 lakh cash.

According to police, Kishor Madhukarrao Hedau (58), who is a Senior Manager of Punjab National Bank (PNB), Thane (West) Branch, stays with his family at Badlapur. He visits Nagpur with his family every two-three months. His house at Juni Mangalwari, near Jagannath Swami Mandir, was locked since February 26 this year. Hedau’s neighbour saw the door of his house open. He contacted Hedau and told him about it. Hedau arrived from Badlapur and saw the door latch broken. He checked the box-type wooden diwan in his house and was shocked to find the bag containing Rs 3.10 lask cash stolen. Hedau immediately called the police.

Staff from Lakadganj Police Station visited the spot. He told police that he had kept the new currency notes of Rs 5, Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 500 denominations in the diwan which were stolen on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Following Hedau’s complaint, police registered a case under Sections 457,380 of the Indian Penal Code and started investigation.
