Nagpur: The 94th anniversary of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University was celebrated on Friday at Gurunanak Bhavan , Ambazari Road in University campus. Dr. Devanand Shinde, Vice Chancellor of Shivaji University, Kolhapur was the Chief Guest at this function.
The programme was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Siddharthvinayak Kane. Dr Chandrasekhar Meshram, a medical practitioner of international repute, who was conferred with ‘Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Jeevan Sadhana Puraskar’, was present. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Pramod Yevale, Registrar Puranchandra Meshram were also present on the occasion. Students, teachers and professors of Nagpur University attended this program in huge numbers.
Dr. Devanand Shinde, Vice Chancellor of Shivaji University of Kolhapur addressed the gathering and said that due to the ideology of Mahatma Phule, Shahu and Dr Ambedkar, he has reached this position today. He also said that he has worked with Dr. Ambedkar University, Jyotiba Phule University and Shahu University while following these ideologies. “Technology has got a lot of boost in education. The students are transformed by the teacher. The university needs to maintain the status of education”, he added.
