Nagpur/Ralegan Siddhi: A youth went berserk and created ruckus at the programme of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday. The youth has reportedly been detained by the security guards of Fadnavis.
According to reports, the Chief Minister was attending a programme to inaugurate ‘Sarpanch Melava’ being organised in Ralegan Siddhi for effective implementation of Gramrakshak Dal (Village Protection Group). Renowned social activist Padmabhushan Anna Hazare shared the dais along with other dignitaries.
As the event was progressing, the youth started shouting slogans against Fadnavis while he was delivering his speech. The youth went creating ruckus that reportedly forced the Chief Minister end his speech abruptly and leave the place in a huff.
Although the initiative of setting up a Gramrakshak Dal by the Home Department, headed by Fadnavis himself, was welcomed by the villagers, a resolution passed in the recently held Gramsabha in the village has put the officials in a fix.
The Gramsabha had decided to oppose the function of setting up the Gramrakshak Dal until the demands of the state farmers were met. Anna Hazare, who has been fighting for a Gramrakshak Dal to be set up in the village, which is also his native place, for more than two decades now, was present at the Gramsabha when the resolution was passed.
The Gramsabha had expressed its sentiments stating that the Chief Minister should not come to Ralegan Siddhi unless an appropriate solution was worked out for the farmers strike.
