Rural Market has challenges but is highly attractive’ says Suhas Buddhe

VIA SuhasNagpur: Marketing Forum of Vidarbha Industries Association had organised a talk on “How to market your product in Rural Market” by Suhas Buddhe, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Biocare (India) Pvt. Ltd. He is the first generation entrepreneur and has a leading Agro Biotech Company in India. He shared his experience about his entrepreneurial journey.

Suhas Buddhe during his talk highlighted that in India, 75% of people stay in rural areas. He said that these people are aspiring to have a better lifestyle. Penetration of smart phones in rural market has made it easier to reach the rural consumers. This fact cannot be ignored and hence it is important to tap this attractive Rural Market.

He suggested that one should try to research and understand consumer psychology for satisfy the demands/wants of rural consumers. He gave an example of shampoos being sold in sachets in rural market as the rural consumers generally do not buy shampoos or other cosmetics in large quantities as compared to urban markets.

During the talk, he also highlighted on some strategies adopt by Companies for Rural Markets for their products and Services, Rural Marketing Strategies, Challenges in Rural Marketing, Developing Specific Products for Specific Segment, and Effective Media Modes of communication,

Speaking about the challenges that one faces in rural market is logistics, poor infrastructure. He shared his experience of getting his fertilizers delivered to farmers by tractors or bullock carts. Basically delivering the products in rural market is still a hurdle in today’s so-called digital era. According to him, in dealing with consumers in rural market one should not forget to reconfirm the order and he also suggested that one should take some amount in advance.

At the outset, Akash Agarwal, Chairman, VIA Marketing Forum welcomed Suhas Buddhe. Suhas Buddhe was welcomed with floral compliments by Ashit Sinha, Vice President – VIA. Opening remarks and vote of thanks was proposed by Ashit Sinha. The speaker was introduced by Shikha Khare, Convener, Marketing Forum. Atul Pande, President, VIA and Rohit Agarwal, Secretary, VIA were also prominently present. This programme received an overwhelming response and was attended by young entrepreneurs, students, businessman, retailers, Industrialists in large numbers.
