Nagpur: Masterblaster Sachin Tendulkar, the tag he earned from the years of his dedicated cricketing excellence, made a visit on the lands of Vidarbha on Tuesday. Tendulkar reached Amravati this morning to lay the foundation stone of a proposed sports complex to come up in Daryapur, around 50 kms from Amravati.
Sources told Nagpur Today that Tendulkar reached Amravati by a chartered flight as per his scheduled visit. He would fly back at around 2.30 pm on Tuesday itself.
He travelled by road to Daryapur where he participated in ground-breaking ceremony of the sports complex, which will come up on the premises of Prabodhan School.
Former international cricketer Prashant Vaidya, who is planning to set up a sports complex in memory of his late mother Shubhada Vaidya, said the function was held at 11 am on Tuesday. Tendulkar would also interact with the local young sportspersons after the function before heading back to Mumbai.
