This is NOT a dhaba, though it is situated off the Wardha road, just before the Toll plaza on the Jabalpur by pass.
It is a garden family restaurant in the true sense of the word. It has elements to give ‘samadhan’ to all members of the family: pet geese and a ‘fighter’ cock who loves to be petted! A machan, where we saw a Sunday game of cards underway, lots of open space and vistas of planes flying low overhead coming in for landing! A very colourful toll plaza opposite, but not much traffic on the road to disturb the peace.
And for the food connoisseurs? Authentic Gaorani (desi) chicken that is cooked as per your order, very spicy, typical Saoji or Warhadi. Ditto for the mutton handi. The first is priced at Rs. 900/ for a handi having 12 pieces (full chicken) and mutton Rs. 600/ More than enough portions for 6 diners.
For the vegetarians there is Veg Anda curry, paneer butter masala, dal tadka and lots of snacks like hara bhara kebabs.
What is distinct is the variety of ‘roti’ on offer: soft but crisp tawa rotis, thin tandoori rotis made of atta, not maida, or your normal tandoori roti. There is also the trademark jeera-garlic rice one usually gets in Saoji joints.
Samadhan does not stick to any one kind of ‘dhaba food’. It has Saoji, Warhadi, or Gharguti, even Punjabi.
A restaurant lovingly created by owner Kiran Uparkar, who lives in Nagpur but is parked at the gates of Samadhan every evening to personally welcome guests! Heyy!! And they accept credit/ debit cards and paytm too!
