Nagpur: Sankalp, an Association of Parents of Persons with Mental Retardation, celebrated the 70th Independence Day with gaiety. President of the organization, Rajesh Khare hoisted the tricolor in the office premises. Dignitaries garlanded the oil portrait of Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi to mark the occasion.
The physically disabled and mentally retarded students rendered patriotic poems, songs as well as delivered speeches. Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Chhatrapati Shivaji Award winner and Sankalp Vice President Dr Malvila, Secretary P G Jagtap, parents Ashok Javade, Fateh Mohammed, Safiq Ahmed Ansari, Rajesh Jarani, Mohan Kewalramani, Vinay Dongre, Divyang students Yash Jagtap, Shreyas Khare, Aman Javade, Nilesh Uke, Sidhart Bagde, and Rambhau Ramteke, Vinod Bhongade, Kavita Bhongade, other prominent citizens in large number.
The programme was conducted by Secretary P G Jagtap who also proposed a vote of thanks.
