Nagpur News.
Road robbers struck in a big way and relieved a cashier of a shop to the tune of Rs 2.50 lakh he was carrying for depositing in a bank. However, the most amazing part of the robbery is that it occurred near RSS Headquarters, the most secure spot in Nagpur. The area is very busy and most sensitive, too, and guarded by hundreds of armed policemen round the clock.
The robbery incident has created panic among the residents of Mahal area and also sent police in a tizzy. As many as 250 police personnel are on duty twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and 30 days a month. However, the situation notwithstanding, a cashier of Ladali Saree Centre was looted at weapon point on Monday at about 12 noon. The cashier, Manohar Chandekar, a resident of 49, Shaktimata Nagar, Nagpur, put cash of Rs 2.5 lakh in the dickey of his scooter and was heading towards Bank of India. When he reached at Hanuman Temple near RSS Headquarters, he was stopped by armed miscreants who first manhandled him and then looted the cash.
It may be mentioned here that, house-breaking had taken place at the residence of Congress leader, Bandu Umarkar that too near the RSS Headquarters but the police still have not succeeded in nabbing the thieves.
