Nagpur: Gangster and Satta-King Harishchandra Dhawde dies in Wockardt Hospital on August 18, 2016 at 8:45 pm. Sources claimed that he was sick and was ailing with some lung problem for the last two months. On August 18, 2016, his condition worsened and he breathed his last at around 8:45 pm.
Till the time of filing the cause of the death. The Wockardt Hospital suddenly is abuzz with a lot of activity. People with anti-social antecedents were seen moving cautiously towards the entrance of the hospital to see their erstwhile boss. The Cops of Nagpur Police and Ambazhari Police Station were present at the Hospital to ensure no untoward incident occurs in the premises.
The Dhawade family lives near Garoba Maidan off Central Avenue Road. The Dhawade Mohalla and the lane in which they live is said to be part of city underworld. The Dhawade’s residence is said to be a safe haven and is out of bounds for commoners.
Sources claim that there is a Dargah in the Dhawade Galli (Street) around which the family resides. Entry into the Dhawde’s residence is strictly regulated and sources claimed that a stranger could get lost in the maze of rooms where they live. Harishchandra Dhawde is believed to be the ‘Satta King’ who operated the gambling business from there for years. Some of those who knew Harishchandra Dhawde claimed that he was also a Robinhood like character who was always ready to help the poor and the needy.
Anil Dhawade, who was known for his alleged involvement in criminal cases like assault, extortion and criminal intimidation is the younger brother of Harishchandra Dhawde.
The last rites of Harishchandra Dhawde will be performed at Gangabai Ghat at around 4 pm on August 19, 2016 said his younger brother Anil Dhawde.
