Nagpur: Acting on the tip-off the Squad of Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station in association with Food and Drug Department (FDA) raided a Khamla based pan kiosk and seized Scented Tobacco and Pan Masala worth Rs 84,392 on Saturday. Cops have also rounded up accused Akash Rajesh Hemnani, owner of Chahat Pan Shop.
According to police sources, Nagpur Police and FDA have been receiving several inputs regarding the smuggling and transporting of Scented Tobacco and Pan Masala from Khamla. On Saturday evening, one such information came to fore, that one Hemnani (29), a resident of Flat No. 342, Sindhi Colony, New Shiv Mandir, Khamla had stored Scented Tobacco and Pan Masala at his pan kiosk. Acting swiftly on the inputs, the squad of Rana Pratap Nagar Police and FDA rushed to the spot and found storage of Scented Tobacco and Pan Masala collectively worth Rs 84,392.
Following which, cops booked the accused Akash Hemnani under relevant Sections of the IPC and Food Safety and Standard Act. Further investigations are on.
