Nagpur: Due to the weather alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), an orange alert has been declared for Nagpur district on July 21, 2024. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the region. With continuous heavy rainfall already affecting many areas and the possibility of severe weather leading to sudden flood-like situations in parts of Nagpur, District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar has announced a holiday for all Anganwadi centers, schools, colleges, and coaching classes in Nagpur on July 22, 2024, for the safety of students.
As per the Disaster Management Act of 2005 and the authority granted by the state government, the district administration has decided to close all educational institutions within the district boundaries, including areas under the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, on this date. This measure is being taken to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the safety of students amidst the adverse weather conditions.
