Seatbelts, airbags save two lives after car turns turtle near Wathoda Highway

Nagpur: Two passengers had a lucky escape after the speeding car they were traveling in, turned turtle near Wathoda Highway here on Friday. Seatbelts and airbags saved their lives, said police.

According to police sources, the car (CG/07/BH/0877) was traveling at a high-speed. As soon as the vehicle reached near Wathoda Highway, the driver reportedly lost control over the vehicle and rammed it on the divider. The impact was so severe that the car turned turtle. However, as both the passengers were wearing seatbelts and airbags that came into action following the impact proved critical in saving both the lives, cops said.

Following the incident, a huge traffic jam was reported on the stretch. Acting on the input, the squad of Mauda Police rushed to the spot and cleared the traffic and also rushed the injured passengers to the hospital.
