Nagpur :Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport underwent a thorough security check on Monday in response to a bomb threat received via email, according to officials. This incident marks the third such scare since April.

The alert, which indicated a pipe bomb was supposedly planted in a restroom within the aerodrome, prompted swift action from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and local authorities. Security personnel conducted a comprehensive search of the entire airport complex but found no suspicious items, reassuring both officials and travelers.

A senior official from Nagpur airport confirmed to the media that security measures were immediately heightened upon receipt of the threatening email. This comes amidst a recent wave of similar hoax threats targeting multiple airports across the country.

Last week, airports in Delhi, Jaipur, Vadodara, Chennai, and Patna also received hoax bomb threat emails. The incident in Nagpur is part of a wider trend affecting more than 40 cities nationwide. Similar false alarms occurred earlier in April at Nagpur airport.

As investigations into the origin and motive behind these threats continue, authorities remain vigilant, emphasizing the ongoing challenges in ensuring airport security amid evolving threats.
