Servant steals Rs 8 lakh, two-wheeler of Skylight Bar owner in Nagpur

Nagpur: A servant burgled Rs 8 lakh cash and a two-wheeler from a bar owner in Nagpur.

Pratap Nagar Police have registered a theft case against the servant, Anurag alias Kishan Patel (34), a native of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh.

According to police, the complaint was lodged by Nilay Rajendra Kashyap (34), who owns Skylight Beer Bar in Waddhamna. Anurag worked as a housekeeper for Kashyap, who kept Rs 8 lakh cash in a cupboard locker. On Saturday, while Kashyap was away from the bar, Anurag seized the opportunity and stole the cash and two-wheeler (MH-40/CR 1100).

When Kashyap returned home around 9.30 pm, he discovered that Anurag was nowhere to be seen and cash was missing. When he tried to contact Anurag’s phone it was switched off. Kashyap reported the theft to Pratap Nagar Police.

Booty worth Rs 10 lakh stolen in Jaripatka

In a bold burglary at the residence of 51-year-old Lakshmi Gopaldas Bairagi, near Dayanand Park in Jaripatka, thieves stole cash and jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh.

On August 1, Lakshmi and her family travelled to Nepal for religious purposes. The thief broke into the house and took Rs 3.5 lakh in cash along with jewellery worth Rs 6.5 lakh from a cupboard. Upon returning, Lakshmi discovered the theft and reported it to Jaripatka Police. The police have registered a case of burglary and are searching for the culprits.
