The NIT Chairman said that out of the Rs 118 crore received for development, Rs 115 crore was spent on work which was completed. “The beautification work of the small Dargah is under way. Anti-social elements obstructing work have been arrested. The trust has a profit of Rs 4 crore,” he said.

Gadkari then asked the Tajbagh Trustees to have a discussion with the police and install CCTV cameras at all locations to monitor the area. “The joint team of NMC, NIT and police should remove all illegal structures in the area and trustees should remain present during the entire operation. All encroachments in the city should also be removed. The trustees should then erect a protection wall to prevent encroachments in the future. They should also prepare a plan to accommodate parking of lakhs of visitors coming for Urs,” the Union Minister said.
