Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, the Social Security Branch (SSB) of Nagpur Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested two persons for allegedly running a sex racket under the guise of Gabaru Unisex Salon in the Lakadganj area.
The accused have been identified as Nitin Prakas Pawar, 26, a resident of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Hudkeshwar, and Neelam alias Nisha Sanju Banode, 35, a resident of Juni Shukrawari, Sakkardara. Cops have also rescued a woman lured into prostitution and other materials worth Rs 58,250.
According to police sources, the SSB officials received information that the accused duo were running a sex racket at Gabaru Unisex Salon. After verifying the inputs, cops laid a trap and sent a dummy customer. After his signal, cops raided the premises and arrested the accused persons.
An offence under Sections 4, 5, 7 of the PITA Act was registered against them at Lakadganj Police Station. Further investigation is underway
