Nagpur: Unit 4 of the Nagpur Crime Branch on Monday busted a sex racket operating under the guise of a salon in the Sakardara area. Besides arresting the accused owner identified as Sheela Kailash Bhowate (38), a resident of Chamat Chakki Road, Nandanvan, cops have rescued four women and seized Rs 1,500 and other materials worth Rs 11,590.
According to police sources, the cops received secret information regarding a sex racket operating at K C Family Salon located on Sangam Talkis Road, Sakardara. Following the confirming inputs, cops laid the trap and sent a dummy customer to K C Family Salon. After paying the amount, the dummy signaled to the cop. Subsequently, they raided the premises and found Bhowate luring victims under the pretext of money to indulge in sexual activities.
An offense under relevant sections of the PITA act was registered. Further investigations are ongoing.
