Sharad Pawar arrives in Nagpur, leaves for Amravati

Nagpur: NATIONALIST Congress Party (NCP) Supremo Sharad Pawar as per the scheduled visit arrived at Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport on Sunday morning and left for Amravati for the party programme. A small band of party workers welcomed Pawar at the airport. He just waved at the volunteers and left for Amravati by road. Surprisingly, Pawar was accompanied by Maharashtra Minister Sunil Kedar and former Minister Ramesh Bang when he left for Amravati.

Big posters of former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh welcoming Sharad Pawar were on display. Names of Salil Deshmukh, Duneshwar Pethe, President of city unit of NCP; Baba Gujar, President of District unit of NCP were clearly visible on the board. This is Pawar’s second visit toVidarbha in last four months. Last tour of Pawar was a bit hectic. This time his tour has several dimensions.

Politics in state has changed a lot. NCP and Shiv Sena both are facing actions from Enforcement Directorate. Its prominent leader from Vidarbha Anil Deshmukh has not come out of various actions by central agency. In the wake of all these developments, the enthusiasm in Sunday’s visit was less as compared to the vibrancy in his last visit.

Party workers shouted slogans in support of Pawar.Those present at airport to welcome Pawar from NCP were Duneshwar Pethe, Baba Gujar, Pravin Kunte, Abha Pandey, Prakash Gajbhiye, Anil Ahirkar, Prashant Pawar, Subodh Mohite, Shekhar Sawarbandhe, Varsha Shamkule, Ramesh Phule, Shailendra Tiwari, Shrikant Shivankar, Nutan Rewatkar, Laxmi Sawarkar and others were present.
