Shivprasad Agrawal elected President, Ramanand Agrawal Secy in Shri Agrasen Mandal polls

Nagpur: The triennial elections of the prestigious Shri Agrasen Mandal of Nagpur were held on Sunday, March 20. The Taraju Panel swept the polls defeating Shankh Panel. Shivprasad Agrawal and Ramanand Agrawal of Taraju Panel have been elected as President and Secretary respectively. In fact, all the contestants of Taraju Panel got elected.

Following the office-bearers elected to Shri Agrasen Mandal. President Shivprasad Agrawal, Vice Presidents – Anil KC and Sandeep Agrawal, Secretary Ramanand Agrawal, Treasurer Anant Kumar Agrawal, Joint Secretary Sanjay Pacheriwala, Upamantri for Gandhibagh Abhay Agrawal, Upamantri for Ravinagar Pramod Agrawal, Upamantri for Chhatrawas Laxmikant Agrawal and Executive Members.

The triennial elections of Shri Agrasen Mandal of Nagpur were conducted at Ravinagar-based Shri Agrasen Bhavan amid tight police bandobast on Sunday. The counting of votes was started at 8 pm and lasted till midnight. The polls were held under the watchful eyes of Chief Election Officer Bharat Bhushan Mehadia, CA Sachin Dhanavat, retired Assistant Registrar A R Giri and a team of 80 members.

Notably, the last elections of Shri Agrasen Mandal were held in the year 2012. As the groupism was its peak, the matter reached the courts. Finally, the courts, with the help of NMC Administration, held the elections on Sunday.

Shri Agrasen Mandal has total 10,500 members. Of them, 3,363 members took part in the polls. 27 members contested for nine posts of office-bearers while 38 contestants were in the ring for 18 posts of Executive Committee.
