Nagpur: A tragic accident occurred on the Amravati-Nagpur Highway this morning involving a Shivshahi bus. The bus overturned while trying to avoid a cow that had suddenly appeared on the road. As a result, 28 passengers were injured, and one lost their life.
The incident took place when the Shivshahi bus was en route from Nagpur to Akola. According to reports, as the bus was traveling along Highway 6, a cow unexpectedly ran onto the road. The bus driver attempted to steer clear of the animal but lost control, causing the bus to veer off the road and overturn.
Local residents quickly responded to the scene, helping the injured passengers to the nearest hospital for treatment. The bus driver recounted the incident, explaining that the cow appeared suddenly, and despite his efforts to avoid it, the bus overturned.
The accident caused significant traffic disruption on the highway, with long queues of vehicles forming as authorities worked to clear the site. Efforts are currently underway, using a crane to right the overturned bus. The front of the bus sustained considerable damage, underscoring the severity of the accident.
