Bollywood Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan, who is one of the most active B-town celebs on social media, has been dethroned by the Bollywood’s King of romance Shah Rukh Khan, as the most followed Indian actor on Twitter and the ‘angry young man’ doesn’t seem too happy about it. According to latest reports, the number of followers of Shah Rukh has remained the same at 32, 944, 338 but Amitabh Bachchan lost a good chunk of his own followers, bringing him to the second most followed person on Twitter with 32, 902,353 followers.
After losing a lot of his followers on Twitter, the actor took to his micro-blogging site to threaten to quit, sharing a still from his film ‘Hum’. Accusing Twitter of reducing the number of his followers, Bachchan wrote, “T 2599 – TWITTER ..!!!?? you reduced my number of followers .. !!??HAHAHAHAHAHAHA .. !! thats a joke .. time to get off from you .. thank you for the ride .. .. there are many ‘other’ fish in the sea – and a lot more exciting !!” In the still, the actor could be seen grabbing the neck of a villain from the film.
Before tweeting the angry post, the 75-year-old actor shared stills from the same film, marking the 27 years of the movie. He further tweeted, “T 2599 – 27 YEARS of ‘HUM’ .. BAADDUUMMBAAAAA !!! Amazing times and most importantly the creation of the song ‘Jumma Chumma’ by me .. Rajni with me and Govinda .. and of course the Filmfare award !! good times .. good vibrations .. good all along (sic).”
Bachchan, who earlier had celebrated getting 33 million followers on Twitter, has got only 32,899,816 followers now. We wonder what caused this dip in followers. going by Bachchan’s first tweet, it seems like a legitimate threat, but with the second tweet, it gives you hope that the legendary actor might be just pranking us? Well, if the tweet is anything to go by, then it’s really a bad news for his fans. Amitabh Bachchan’s followers might have dropped, but the actor surely can’t disappoint the huge number of followers that are following him currently on Twitter.

Earlier in one of his interviews, Big B had said, “Social media gives someone the opportunity to express themselves. You’ve never had that opportunity before, you never knew what others were thinking about you, at least now you know. And the good part is, it lasts for a day or half-a-day; the next day, something else comes up. Things move so rapidly in today’s life that you don’t have time. One’s attention span is so limited and so small. Whether it is watching the news on TV, every two minutes you hear a bang in the middle of the most sincere news, purely because they don’t want you to get to your remote and change the channel. That’s how life has become.” ALSO READ: Shah Rukh Khan Surpasses Amitabh Bachchan In The Race To Become The Most Followed Indian Actor On Twitter
He had further added, “Social media gives everybody a voice, everybody an opportunity, everybody a democratic opportunity to express themselves. What’s wrong with that?” Hope, that Big B goes by what he had once said and drop the idea of quitting Twitter. Watch this space for further updates.
