Shocking!! Former Nagpur Times journalist shot dead at home in broad daylight

Nagpur: The law and order situation in Nagpur city seems to have deteriorated as Nagpur Police failed to deter incidents of murder. In another audacious incident of killing, Vinay alias Bablu Punekar, a former Nagpur Times journalist, was reportedly shot dead at his home by unidentified assailants.

According to police sources, Vinay was at his Raj Nagar-based house when unidentified assailants accosted him and killed him on the spot.

After Nagpur Times, Vinay joined Dinshaws in marketing. Taking stock of the situation, senior police officers of Nagpur Police rushed to the spot and conducted a panchanama.

An offence of murder was registered. Manhunt of the accused is underway.

This is the 13th incident of murder in the span of 24 days in February this year. While the series of murders continues, this raises serious questions about the law and order situation in the city, especially for the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Union Minister.
