Nagpur: DMSR’s closing event of the festival was SHODH – A Search for Excellence. This is a national level research paper presentation competition, exclusively for students. SHODH has been started with an intention to impart and sharpen the various personality development aspects of students like, analytical skills, decision making skills, communication skills, just to name a few. At SHODH, students have gained knowledge, experience and public speaking skills, a prerequisite for budding managers. This year SHODH witnessed around 20 powerhouse entries from various universities and colleges.
Students presented their research work on various topics under the specified themes:
“Make In India – the mantra with a difference”, “Key issues in current global economic situation”, “Indian exports- a comparative performance- 2014-15”, MNCs Vs Indian Business- past performance and future prospects”. First prize was awarded to Asim Qureshi- students of DBM, Nagpur for his research paper titled “Current issues in global economic situation”, Second prize was won by Students from VNIT, Nagpur, Madhuri Maddi and Ishan for their research work on “Make I India-The mantra with a difference – CSR”, Third prize winner was one of the participant from Mumbai ISES College, Sadiya Khan. We had a tie for consolation prizes, both won by GS Students- Habeeb Ahmad for his topic- “MNCs Vs Indian Companies” from DAIMSR and Piyush Satone for his topic, “Key issues in current Global economic situation”.
Thus, SHODH 2016 happened to be a scholarly engagement, where the participants were given a chance to present their research work and defend it giving the audience’s new and diverse opinions. This event reiterated the intellectual aspects of the students and won appreciation and admiration from the judges, CA Swapnil Ghate, Chairman ICAI Nagpur Chapter and CA Kirti Agrawal, Ex-chaiman of ICAI Nagpur who were awed by the presentation skills.
This event garnished an overwhelming response, keeping up DMSR’s tradition of hosting it, since the last 8 years. The Director of DMSR, Dr. Devender Kawday, a guiding light behind this activity ensured no stone was left unturned in making this event a success. Chairman , Shiksha Mandal, Wardha, Sanjay Bhargav, in his speech, congratulated all the participants and encouraged them to be the best at their task. The Principal of G S College, Dr N Y Khandait added grace to the event with his presence & shared his valuable thoughts with all the participants. The event could not have been a hit with the students but for the untiring efforts of faculty and the ever enthusiastic students of DMSR, headed by the Convener Dr Nirja Upadhye with her meticulous planning and hardwork.
