Shubham Lakudkar shines in chess tournament

Shubham Lakudkar emerged champion in the District Open Chess Tournament organised by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jai Bhim Bahuuddeshiya Sanstha, Indora under the auspices of Nagpur District Chess Association (NDCA) at Lalita Kala Bhavan the other day. Lakudkar garnered highest eight points to win the title. He was followed by Devansh Ratti who secured 7.5 points for the second spot.

Chaitayna Bhaisare and Pujjam Bansod achieved third and fourth place respectively whereas Sourabh Lokhande finished at fifth position. On top board Lakudkar and Dhamgaye played outa draw. The second board also witnessed the draw between Bansod and Ratti whereas Umesh Lalwani, too, settled for a draw with Bhaisare.

Shubham Lakudkar (8) drew with Pramod Dhamgaye (6.5), Pujjam Bansod (7) drew with Devansh Ratti (7.5), Umesh Lalwani (6.5) drew with Chaitanya Bhaisare (7), Prashik Bansod (6) lost to Sourabh Lokhande (7), Virag Wasnik (6) drew with Ashi Dalal (6), Yash Marshettiwar (6) drew with Thomas Ragde (6), Dilip Patil (5.5) lost to Sakshi Lanjewar (6.5), TS Patil (6) bt Dilip Chepte (5.5).
