Nagpur: MIDC Police in Nagpur apprehended six armed desperadoes who were allegedly planning a dacoity near Navrang Bar & Restaurant at Hingna T-point. The police seized a sword, three sharp-edged knives, an iron rod, a rope, cell phones, and a Maruti car (MH-49/C-D9152) from their possession. The total value of the seized items is estimated at Rs 7.02 lakh.
The accused were identified as Satveer Surendra Harde (22) from Harihar Nagar, Besa; Pawan Rajesh Arya (21) from Manish Nagar; Sandeep Bharat Verma (23) from Mahakali Slums; Jitendra Gajendra Behara (32) from Digdoh; Kaushik Sanjay Sawant (23) from Somalwada; and Prafulla Raju Meshram (22) from Savitri Phule Nagar, Ajni.
At around 9.15 pm on Wednesday, the group was spotted standing near their car at Hingna T-Point by a patrolling police team. On seeing the cops approach, the accused attempted to flee but were chased down and apprehended. Upon search, the patrol team recovered the weapons and other items.
A case was registered against the accused under Sections 310(4) and 310(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Section 4/25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
