Nagpur: After some areas in Nandanvan and Mahal were enveloped in darkness on Tuesday, angry citizens ransacked the offices of Spanco Nagpur Discom Limited (SNDL) in Binaki and Tulsibagh. Upset over this, the linemen in the offices have gone on an indefinite strike.

If they do not resume work, the repair work and restoration looks impossible in case of a power failure. The unstable weather and strong winds in the city can affect electric supply in the city and the strike at this point of time can envelop the city in darkness.

Mahal, Nandanvan and surrounding areas faced power breakdown around 4 pm after which angry citizens ransacked the SNDL offices. Upset over this, the linemen and other employees went on an indefinite strike. They have demanded an increase in the manpower and that Nagpur office be given the rights to buy necessary things. The delay in buying permissions from Mumbai causes the problem and the employees here have to face citizens’ ire.
