Nagpur: Spanco Nagpur Discom Limited (SNDL), the power distribution franchisee, has undertaken pre-summer maintenance task such as upkeep of overhead LT lines, cooling arrangement of transformers, trimming of trees etc in view of temperatures recording an upward trend since the very beginning of this year.
Since the heat impacts the existing and long-standing infrastructure the most, the maintenance task is must to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the tormenting summer.
Furthermore, any tasks which require extended shut-downs have to be completed well in advance foreseeing the inability to execute the same after onset of summers.

The SNDL has already completed most of the pre-summer activities on priority basis. This includes network sensitive tasks such as trimming of trees, restringing of LT lines, replacement of pin, disc and shackle insulators wherever needed and tightening of LT and HT lines jumpers.
However, since the temperatures started rising quite early this year and extended shutdowns were not advisable, therefore extensive and time-taking activities have been undertaken during the regular maintenance shutdown period every Wednesday to avoid inconvenience to the consumers.
The works being still in-progress, the franchisee has requested the citizens to highlight specific summer-centric requirements to the nearby SNDL office or at the toll-free call centre on 1800-313-9600 so that it can be taken up as a priority element.
