Faridabad/ Nagpur: Following the incident of death of two Dalit children in Sonped village on early morning of Tuesday, the villagers staged blockade of traffic on Wednesday on Ballabhgarh-Faridabad road in protest and refused burial of the bodies of children, demanding action against the culprits, said the media reports.
Meanwhile, the Haryana government on Wednesday formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the incident, said the sources.
“On the basis of preliminary investigation, four people have been arrested. Because of the seriousness of the incident, we have formed a special investigation team which consists of officers from all levels,” said Haryana Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mohammad Akil.
“We have suspended three police officers considering that there was some laxity. Also, the officials who were in the PCR which was supposed to be here have been suspended. The SHO, who was related to this case, has also been suspended,” he added.
The ADGP also assured that the probe in this case would be completed at the earliest.
Rajnath seeks report from Khattar
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday told the media persons that he had spoken to the Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar to take stock of the Faridabad incident.
“Such incidents (Ballabhgarh incident) are very unfortunate and condemnable. This should not have happened. I had a word with the Chief Minister of Haryana and even the Chief Minister of Punjab,” Singh added.
