Nagpur: The Southwest Monsoon is likely to hit Vidarbha in next 48 hours as the conditions are favourable for its advancement, stated Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in a press release on Wednesday. As per the prediction by the weather department, Nagpur has to wait for the onset of monsoon for 2-3 more days.
Light rains and thunderstorms, on Wednesday, reduced the day temperature in Nagpur as the maximum was recorded 38.0 degrees Celsius. Due to the cloudy sky the weather became pleasant. City recorded 5 mm rainfall till 5.30 pm. Monsoon will enter in Vidarbha 1-2 days before Nagpur.
Gondia recorded the highest rainfall in Vidarbha with 13 mm on Wednesday. Bramhapuri also recorded 5 mm rainfall. Bramhapuri, Chandrapur and Gondia recorded the highest maximum temperature with 40.0 degrees Celsius each. Whereas other places like Akola (38.3 degrees Celsius), Amravati (36.0 degrees Celsius), Buldhana (36.2 degrees Celsius), Gadchiroli (38.2 degrees Celsius), Nagpur (38.0 degrees Celsius), Wardha (38.5 degrees Celsius), Washim (36.5 degrees Celsius) and Yavatmal (38.5 degrees Celsius) recorded the maximum temperature below 40 degrees.
Nagpur recorded the highest relative humidity with 95% on Wednesday. Whereas Amravati (65%), Bramhapuri (79%), Gadchiroli (60%), Gondia (89%) and Wardha (64%) recorded the relative humidity above 60%. There were no major changes observed in minimum temperatures in all over Vidarbha as the minimums of most of the places were recorded above 26 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
