Upon receiving the distressing report, authorities swiftly mobilized, with officers from the Nandanvan police force rushing to Sangharsh Nagar. Both Neeraj and Vishal were promptly transported to a medical facility, where Neeraj was tragically pronounced dead. Vishal’s condition, meanwhile, continues to be a cause for grave concern.

The gravity of the situation prompted the immediate response of DCP Nimit Goyal of the Crime Branch and DCP Vijaykant Sagar of Zone-4, who promptly descended upon the crime scene. Throughout the night, law enforcement officials tirelessly worked to uncover the identities of the assailants, believed to have harbored animosity towards Neeraj and Vishal stemming from a dispute over alcohol consumption.

This latest incident marks the fifth murder to rock the city in just one week, with four of the tragic occurrences unfolding under the purview of Zone-4. Of these, three murders occurred within the jurisdiction of the Wathoda Police Station, while the remaining incident unfolded in Nandanvan, further exacerbating fears among the populace. In response to the escalating violence, the police force has launched extensive search operations to apprehend the perpetrators.

Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Singal, who had issued stern directives to police station officers to bolster preventative measures against homicides mere days ago, expressed deep concern over the continued spate of violence. Despite concerted efforts, including the recent parade of 317 known criminals within the city, law enforcement officers remain challenged by the persistent threat of murder.

In a bid to bolster security measures, police inspectors from external precincts have been deployed as Station House Officers (SHOs) across several police stations in the city, reflecting the urgent need for heightened vigilance and proactive policing in the face of escalating violence.
