Spate of thefts in Rana Pratap Nagar, 12 houses burgled

Nagpur News : Housebreaking at nine flats of three neighbouring flats and three independent houses in Rana Pratap Nagar police station area on Wednesday night has raised question whether patrolling duties by police is really useful.

Despite of two security guards and 10 CCTV cameras, burglars gained entry at Shivneri apartments in Sawarkar Nagar near Orange City hospital wherein 4 flats were burgled. Two flats on fifth floor while two from sixth floor were targeted. All four flats were locked from last two days. Only one- Jitendra Bharadwaj suffered loss of Rs 54,000. He told that he had gone to Shirdi when the theft took place while other house owners had been out of town.

Five flats from neighbouring two apartments were burgled. Two flats from Ganesh Heights and three from Gauri Ganesh apartments were broke open. However, since the victim families are not in town, the amount burgled is yet to be reported.

A few kilometres away, thieve struck Manmohan Sen’s residence at Cosmos Town in Trimurti Nagar and also his two neighbouring houses. Till late evening, RP Nagar police were yet to take the complaints.
