Speeding car rams auto, driver killed

Nagpur: An auto driver was killed when a speeding car rammed his vehicle in Imambada on Thursday night. The accused car driver has not been identified.

The deceased Dinesh Madhukar Shirsat (40), resident of Ramteke Nagar, Ajni, had gone to Jattarodi area in Imambada with passengers in his auto (MH-31/DS 3849) around 10.15 pm on Thursday. After dropping the passengers, Dinesh was going towards Imambada Square. As he reached in front of Jattarodi Hindi School, a speeding Centro car (MH-31/ AG 8547) coming from opposite direction rammed his auto with forceful impact. The impact left Dinesh grievously injured and he died on the spot. After the accident, the car driver allegedly fled the spot as he has not been identified.

Imambada PSI N A Patwatkar, based on a complaint lodged by Umesh Madhukar Shirsat (28), has registered a case against the unidentified car driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.
