Nagpur: In a freak but tragic incident, a middle aged man was crushed to death by a speeding truck in front of his son. The tragedy occurred in Mhalgi Nagar of Hudkeshwar. The truck driver along the killer vehicle fled the spot and is being hunted.
The complainant Prateek Pimpalkar (20), resident of Plot No. 28, Vitthal Nagar, along with father Kawduji alias Kamlakar Pimpalkar, was going to Ashtavinayak Lawn for attending a ceremony. The father-son duo was riding on a motorcycle. When they reached near the Lawn, Prateek parked his motorcycle in front of Abhinay Nursing Home. He and his father then started crossing the road to reach the Lawn. In the meanwhile, the rashly driven truck (MH-34/M 7325) overtook Kawduji from wrong side (left side) and hit him. As a result, Kawduji fell on the road and came under the wheels of the truck and died on the spot. The tragedy occurred right in front of Prateek’s eyes. The truck driver fled the spot after the gory accident.
Based on a complaint lodged by a stunned Prateek, Hudkeshwar PSI B M Totewar has booked the truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of IPC read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and launched a search to apprehend him.
