Nagpur: A 36year old man was killed when the motorcycle on which he was travelling was hit by a speeding MSRTC bus on Wadi road in Ambazari Police Station limits on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Ashwin Khemraj Parsatwar (36), a resident of Plot No 34, Ingole Layout, Sadbhavna Nagar. According to police, the accident occurred on Saturday at 3.30 pm when Ashwin, riding a motorcycle (MH-31/CF6337) was hit by a speeding bus. He took a turn near Himalay Galaxy turning where the bus came from the opposite direction and hit his two-wheeler. Ashwin fell on the road and sustained grievous injuries. A large number of onlookers gathered at the spot. He was rushed to the private hospital where he succumbed to the injuries. The bus driver managed to escape from the spot after the accident.
Ambazari police have registered a case under Sections 304 (a), 279 of Indian Penal Code read with Sections 134 and 177 of Motor Vehicle Act. The police are checking CCTV footage to identify the culprit bus driver.
