Nagpur: The Maharashtra cabinet in a meeting held today sanctioned the important proposal document for the Upgradation, Modernisation, Maintenance on the basis public-private partnership and Design, Build, Finance, Operate, (DBFTO).
The Nagpur airport is being developed as International Airport and Multi-modal International Cargo Hub. In this project two sub project have been included International airport and Special financial sector and service trade have been included.
Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport which is at centre of India is going to be the important airport. Present the airport is run by MIHAN India Limited company. Maharashtra Airport Development and Airport Authority of India have 51 and 48 share. These two as per the contract agreed to develop the airport from private development.
The decision about works like Upgradation, Modernisation, Maintenance will be done by Public Private and Partnership (PPP) similarly Design, Build, Finance, Operate, (DBFTO) was taken on 23 July 2017 at cabinet meeting.
As per Request For Quotation process five companies have been selected. Proposal has been called for from these five companies, request for proposal and concession agreement have been okayed by the cabinet.
