Nagpur: Given the tense atmosphere between China and India on the tri borders of China, India and Bhutan there has been a growing movement to ‘ban buying of Chinese products’. The call has been given mostly for electronic products like cell phones. But now, a wing of RSS called Swadeshi Jagaran Manch has appealed to PM Modi to not go in for mega deals with China.
There is a joint project underway in Butibori worth Rs. 851 crores where Metro bogeys will be manufactured based on Chinese design and expertise.
Chief Minister Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari are credited with having brought this project to Nagpur.
The first ‘client’ to go in for these bogeys could very well be Nagpur Metro which is set to roll out in a few months.
As Nagpur Metro has claimed, it is going to be India’s greenest metro, going for latest design and consuming very little power to run.
“India just doesn’t have the expertise or know how to make the light steel bogies required for modern metros” as per Maharashtra Metro officials.
But activists of the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch have stated their clear intentions to undertake a national stir against Chinese made products and take their agitation across the nation.
