Tathagata bags gold in Journalism, Vrushali first among Marathi medium examinees ; pals at Department of Mass Comm RTMNU delighted

Nagpur : RTMNU’s 109th convocation ceremony brought moment of pride for university’s Department of Mass Communication. Department’s student Tathagat Dibakar Ray won three gold medals and a prize for securing highest score in the exam of Bachelor of Journalism. Vrushali Vinay Dange has topped among the Marathi medium examinees of Bachelor of Journalism. These university toppers have enriched the legacy of university’s mass comm department in minting finest professionals, said the juniors of awardees who were present at the convocation ceremony to cherish the moment.

Tathagata is currently pursuing his law studies at Nagpur. After completing his graduation in humanities, he preferred to learn journalism before law. He has not yet decided whether he is going to practice law or journalism after completing studies. We would love to see him covering court beat in future, expressed the juniors.

On the other hand, Vrushali has already entered the field of marathi journalism. She has been into stints with several marathi print media publications since the completion of course. Mass comm has diverse career opportunities and I am still exploring where to lead further, says Vrushali. She has keen interest in pursuing higher studies in mass comm but after getting some work experience.

Students, staff and faculty members congratulated Tathagata and Vrushali. “Our seniors have been consistently building an amazing legacy and further we wish to take it to the new heights.” Says Rupali Moharkar, a student of Bachelor of Journalism in current batch at the department and intern at a leading newspaper.
