Nagpur: A 16-year old girl committed suicide by hanging in her residence in Hudkeshwar area here in the wee hours of Wednesday. The reason behind the teenage girl taking the extreme step could not be ascertained immediately.
A resident of Plot No. 37, Gurukrupa Nagar, behind Punyadham Mandir, the deceased has been identified as Kalyani Pravin Shinde. Kalyani ended her life by hanging to ceiling fan in kitchen of her residence between 5 am and 7 am on Wednesday. The suicide came to notice of Kavita Pravin Shinde (44), mother of deceased Kalyani, woke up and found her hanging to the ceiling fan with the help of a sari. The exact reason behind the teenage girl taking the extreme step could not be ascertained immediately.
Hudkeshwar police constable has registered a case of accidental death and launched a thorough probe into the matter.

In another incident, a 34-year old woman who had immolated self on April 23, 2018, succumbed to her burn injuries while being treated at Mayo Hospital on May 2. Mamata Rakesh Nahalkar, resident of Thakkargram, near Hanuman Mandir, Pachpaoli, around 10 am on April 23, poured kerosene and set herself ablaze over unspecified reasons. She was admitted in Mayo Hospital. But Mamata succumbed to her burn injuries around 7.40 pm on May 2.
Pachpaoli PSI Sisode, based on information, registered a case of accidental death and investigating the matter further.
